A little Sunday Action
Last week I took a Saturday off - it is a rare occurrence during the summer months, yet I do take a few to have some Saturday weekend love. However, I did work on the Sunday. I now have a big crush on Sunday sessions. What I find is that people are really chilled, they have soaked up some r&r on Saturday so they are feelin' fine. Meanwhile, when we are out and about photographing everyone else is at home mowing their lawn, which means we have parks and streets to ourselves.
Feeling like you want some Sunday session action, I only have a few Sunday's available so give us a call at the office and grab them while you can.
Now, part of the warm fuzzy of the Sunday Action was the people I were photographing. First up was the Warne family - who pretty much laughed with me through the whole thing.
A nice family portrait:

and then the one I think they should hang up huge in their house

So after the Warne family I was riding a good photo high, which was thankfully joined by the Buchanan's. This family is a show stopper- literally. I met them before when three out of the four of them hit the stage as Part of the Pantuso Groove 2009 show and they owned it - it was great to have them in front of the camera and to have the chance to get to know them better. You couldn't ask for better clients.
Now I have to say two of my absolute fave's from this shoot can't be shared. It is a surprise to their mom and dad and you have to wait until your all your images are ready for viewing. Sorry - I promised your kids.
Love the tree overhanging in this one.

and something a bit different

Pantuso Dance Recital - a long post
The girls are dancing this week and it makes me cry (and want to get a puppy, but that is a whole different story.) It's a happy, proud, amazed, and a how the heck do we stop time so they can always be this age kind of cry
Selah, Gabby, Rowan, Mikhayla and daddy- O are all part of the Pantuso Groove 2009 Performance happening this week. I saw the two dress rehearsal's and cried, I cried at the dress rehearsal when bursaries were given out to kids I didn't even know.
I live for this stuff.
Really though, it has been a great experience - they are loving performance week - and as I mentioned John is even taking part, which in my mind ups his already super handsome cool dad status. I spent the last two nights there photographing so it felt like a real family affair (minus Maggie who was happily eating lots of ice-cream at our awesome neighbours - thank you awesome neighbour)
If you are looking for a positive community environment, with passionate teachers who strike a healthy balance between challenging the kids and throwing in the fun - Pantuso is the place.
Kids joy, pride and excitement + watching all the parents who love them = a little bit of magic.
Check it out.

This is our youngest, Selah - so excited to see John in the Dad's dance

And of course John, in the Dad's dance. The ironic thing about this is one of our toilet's happen to be broken.
John has received SO much cred from the kids for taking part in it and the best thing is that I think he has had tons of fun. After their practice he would always come home with the kind of silly smile that made me think they were drinking in the parking lot after.

Pantuso also offers tap and musical theatre for grown-ups. This musical theatre numbers gave me goosebumps - way to go ladies!

Do you know who the woman on the right is? It is fair to say she is well known in the community - but I wouldn't have recognized her.

And of course Pantuso Owner and Leader Lindsay Sterk

Way to go everyone and thanks to all the teachers and parents who make this happen!
