Entries in Comox Valley wedding (4)
Chelsea + Ryan
Chelsea and Ryan, had the energy of an old married couple - I mean that in a good way of course, an old married couple who still make each other blush, and give each other sideways glances - yet they have a comfort with each other that only usually comes with time.
Their wedding was off the hook - in so many ways. Chelsea and Ryan are off the hook - in so many ways - warm, laid-back, gorgeous, caring and funny and they even laughed at my jokes.
Ryan popped the question in Tofino and it was their obvious choice for their wedding. So they loaded up the car, with their dog and 150 of their favorite cupcakes and made the drive from Alberta - to say I do surrounded by friend and family all who came from out of town.
Their ceremony was held on a calm day on McKenzie Beach - truly the perfect wedding beach and a favorite of mine since I first moved to BC when I was 8. The reception was at the Tin Wis, which did a phenominal job.
Chelsea would look beautiful in grungy pj's, so in her dress, she was stunning!

Thank you Chelsea and Ryan, Jen and I had SO much fun with you two.
Shawna + Chris
After this wedding I told John it was just as it should be. He says I always that. I loved this wedding for so many reasons, because Shawna and Chris are obviously totally connected, they dance with the same rythme, they look at each other with a sideways glance at the same time, they don’t need to finish their sentences for the other two know what they are trying to say, they operate as a unit.
They feel that they hit the jackpot, that they make each other's life. Truly. You can see it and feel it when you are around them. They are so at ease around each other that you feel at ease when you are with them.
The reasons I adore these two are many and were evident on their day. In all honestly, the day started out a little stressful for both of them. Chris had much to organize, and even thought it was a bit overwhelming at times, he kept his grace and kept his eye on the prize – marrying Shawna. I am pretty sure Chris, if you decide one day to change careers, you could be an event manager.
Shawna, had a bit of a rough go in the morning, it was a tight schedule, she sat on a chocolate chip cookie (she is a mom to a toddler after all,) and things she needed weren’t there. But she did exactly what I would have done, had a bit of stress-relieving cry, mixed with some "I can’t believe I a getting married to the love of my life cries" and moved on. Shawna wears her emotions on her sleeve, and for that I adore her.
Reminder to future brides - wear a button down shirt to get your hair done, so you don't have to do this:

Like I told you, Shawna and Chris don't do things halfway:

Thank you Shawna and Chris, for making us part of your day.
Day 11 is informative
I had a huge wedding yesterday, an amazing romantic wedding (but more of that in a few days,) and then I ran off to play at Music Fest and now, I am going to gear up and do the same.
So a cheater shot, but an informative one.
Yes, that is yesterday's bride Alison with a Surgenor beer. Surgenor is our very new local brewery - it was about time this town had one. Alison and her hubby organized to have Surgenor at their wedding and the brewery was able to set them up with a nice keg table and a staff member to bartend. How fantastically local and awesome is that?

Jane + Peter = Married
Peter and Jane are eye closers. Not in the wow do they ever blink a lot kind of way, in the when I am close to you I close my eyes, connect and really feel you kind of way.
Even after being together for ten years these two move towards each other and seem to melt .
They are one. Their love for each other shines vert brightly.
Peter adores Jane, as a mother, partner and as her own woman.
Jane love and appreciates Peter and feels his love strongly.
You can tell all these things when they talk about each other and you can feel them when you see them look at each other.
Together Jane and Peter have raised four beautiful children, who are the center of their lives. They are a strong family.
With their children, parents, and a few other family members surrounding them Jane and Peter said I do in a beautiful backyard ceremony.
Jane's ring was so beautiful it took a spaceman, a wizard and an unidentified guy with a red helmet to protect it.

This is my favorite - I love the way when Jane cuddling in Peter took her hand. I think it really shows off just how stunning Jane is

We popped into the Great Escape for a few photos. The Great Escape catered the event, and it was amazing - it was nice to see something a bit different.
