Olivia
There are a few families around the valley that are a little extra special, as they were some of my first wedding clients in the comox valley and have become people I care greatly about. Olivia's parents, Bobby and Steph, are part of a family that has had my photograph all their weddings, theirs, their sisters, their brothers and so on. These are people that I have grown to care deeply about and having their support over the years has been a blessing. Meeting their one week old daughter felt very important.
Definitely a new favorite baby bit:

Baby wrinkles are so full of character

Carly and Family
Wendy, her hubby and daughter joined me at a little favorite spot of mine on Wendy's birthday for a portrait session. Wendy is an amazing woman and is known in the community for her business Solutions for Seniors Eldercare Planning. Wendy is a new friend in my life and I feel pretty cool knowing such a smart, funny and charismatic gal.
This first photo moves me. I know when it is my birthday I definitely spend some time thinking about how blessed I am. This photo makes me think of that - feel Wendy's joy at having Carly in her life when I see it.

A little more family love

and the gorgeous Carly, staring us down with those eyes -

Happy Birthday Daria
It is Daria's birthday today so I thought I would get a little blog post up for her. Last week I stopped in at their home for a little play session with her boys. I have many a fave from this session but I saw this series and thought "when these two are in their 40's this series will be meaningful." It is totally timeless and completely part of their day to day life, a little cereal break.
I have had the absolute pleasure of photographing these boys as they grow up, and I have to say they are two of the most adorable brothers, they never fail to entertain and fascinate me.
Daria, I hope you are having a wonderful, restful joyous Birthday week - you are an amazing, talenting woman. Sending you big hugs!
Scarlette
Oh my goodness - how I loved photographing this little one! She has such a beautiful unique look, truly captivating. Her parents were super enthusiastic about the session, so an asap blog post was in order.
This first one, is one she is going to look back on years from now and smile.

Oban
Oban's session was a long time coming. For one reason or another, sickness, bad weather, and so on, re-scheduling kept happening.
By the time we met for the session Oban's mom and I were like old friends and I was really looking forward to the session.
Toddler boys are always busy, however, what really struck me about Oban was that he moved with this lovely grace, busy grace of course.
There were lots of shots to choose from but I love these close up ones - stunning little fella!

I always leave my camera out until I am out the door, because sometimes as I am saying goodbye moments like these happen.
